The Government Must Also Reveal How The Shares Are Distributed Amongst Malays

People have short memories, folks are ever forgiving and because of this decent and kind human nature, these so-called leaders of the PEOPLE are forever manipulating and taking advantage of the working-class ordinary law-abiding citizens.Have we really forgotten KOJADI scheme where millions of ringgit were cheated and stolen from the old senior citizens of their hard-earned and life savings by the supposedly GUARDIANS & CHAMPIONS of the poor, weak and the down-trodden? What about your Chinese HERO Mr.Tan Koon Swan? What about ALL the MCA’s leaders political SCAMS & SCANDALS & debacles of the century, dating from 1980’s onwards? The only good visible standing institution would ONLY be the TAR College/University which surely could have been built MUCH, MUCH earlier! Please bear in mind, these are the PEOPLE’s money you’re embezzelling, from the tax-payers money who put you in a position of authority! Dear President, Regarding the KOJADI scheme you mentioned, would you like to clarify that it’s the same $1.5 billion Co-operative Finance Scandal in the 1980’s affecting the life savings of 540,000 depositors who are mostly small-timers – the housewives, hawkers, workers, petty traders & businessmen. These people made up of half a million households in Malaysia who trusted the MCA with their lives and were betrayed. For these people it’s their “coffin-money”. Would you or anyone out there like to elaborate?

Maybe you can ask whether the Ling family wants to end up like one of the Loy’s son whose car crashed at the Damansara highway some years ago? Is this retribution or bad karma as you called it? Because this is loansharking business legal/licenced or otherwise!

Sometime in the year 2000 we saw Mokhzani Mahathir & Loy’s CEO son at the main entrance of the former MBF Finance building in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, they must be continuing a most interesting meeting to be in full view of the public. After sometime the rakyat experienced the most painful debacle & scam the nation has ever faced in it’s 49 years of independence. Remember the illegal misuse of the rakyat’s EPF money to help bail out TDM’s sons’s troubled companies?

    THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

    Raja Petra Kamarudin

Well, it’s done. The much touted and long anticipated meeting between ex-Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and about-to-be-axed Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is over and done with. And what was achieved? For starters, Mahathir was given his 90 minutes to say his piece to Abdullah’s face and Abdullah accepted the dressing down with a couple of whimpers in between. Let us get one thing perfectly clear. It was a not a peace talk. Mahathir was not there to make amends with Abdullah. He was there to give Abdullah a piece of his mind. And he did just that; told Abdullah what he thought of him without mincing his words.

Before he started, Mahathir informed Abdullah that he was going to tape-record the entire session. He then took out his tape-recorder and placed it onto the table. Abdullah then took out his big black book and got ready to write. And while Mahathir laid out his grievances in full view of Abdullah, Abdullah took down in long hand whatever grouses Mahathir had to spew out. But whether he was jotting down the details of Mahathir’s unhappiness or whether he was merely doodling in an attempt to stay awake and not fall asleep is anyone’s guess — and even Mahathir could not positively say whether Abdullah was really taking notes or just preparing his Hari Raya open house invitation list. So this will have to remain one of the world’s great mysteries.

There was a scare for awhile that the meeting might actually be aborted when they could not agree on certain details of the meeting. Mahathir wanted a two-hour meeting as it would take that long for him to lay out the full list of Abdullah’s errors, transgressions and shortcomings. Abdullah agreed to the two hours but wanted it held at 10.30pm. That would drag the meeting to way past midnight and this did not fit in with Mahathir’s schedule who goes to bed at 11.00pm in the spirit of early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise. (Who the hell invented that corny saying anyway? Sheesh)! Abdullah, in turn, would not agree to Mahathir’s proposal that it be held at 3.00pm as he may not be awake from his afternoon nap yet. Finally, Mahathir won and it was agreed that it be held at 3.00pm — which prompted Abdullah to rush out to buy his big black book to jot down whatever it was he jotted down while Mahathir droned on, the only guarantee Abdullah had of not popping off into slumberland.

Next, Mahathir wanted witnesses to be present at the meeting but Abdullah wanted it to be a four-eyes meeting only. This of course would not suit Mahathir who already had numerous four-eye meetings with Abdullah from mid-2002 till November 2003 before he finally took over the reins as Prime Minister and walked through the corridors of power. In spite of 15 months of consensus, no sooner Abdullah take over, he reversed everything that Mahathir had established and reneged on his word. As far as Mahathir is concerned, Abdullah is not a man of his word and four-eye meetings are extremely dangerous.

In fact, many Cabinet Ministers have complained about this same matter. They lament that after meeting Abdullah to discuss certain issues and after wangling an agreement from him, the next day he would totally forget about the meeting or about what they had agreed on. Now, the Ministers have gotten smarter. After each meeting, they jot down on a piece of paper what was discussed and agreed upon and they get Abdullah to sign it as a sort of memo. Then, when they need to raise the matter again, and in the event Abdullah suffers a memory lapse, which is always, they would produce the signed memo to remind Abdullah what had been agreed.

Okay, Abdullah’s penchant for falling asleep during meetings and functions is already a national treasure and well-known by all and sundry, plus his under-par power of total recall is something Malaysians have already accepted as a necessary evil. But what is causing this? Does Abdullah suffer from some sort of rare disease yet to be discovered by Western scientists and which no name has yet been allotted (and which Malaysians refer to as Abdullah Intermittent Drawback Syndrome, or AIDS for short)?

According to those close to Abdullah, the hapless Prime Minister has a hard time sleeping at night because of the anxiety he is suffering brought on by Mahathir’s constant attacks. If the Singapore Prime Minister has his Mentor, the Malaysian Prime Minister has his Tormentor. Abdullah is genuinely worried that he may not last the full two terms which he hopes to enjoy. He knows Mahathir is bent on ensuring that he does not play out even this present term, let alone two full terms. In short, the ex-Prime Minister is bent on seeing Abdullah as the axed-Prime Minister. And this may yet happen. Abdullah knows, from the experience Mahathir himself is enduring, that the so-called support he is getting from the Umno Supreme Council and the Cabinet is superficial and can only last as long as he does not waver or stagger. The minute he misses his step, they would not only abandon him but pounce on him to accelerate his downfall.

Take Trade and Industry Minister Rafidah Aziz as one example. When Mahathir suddenly and without warning announced his resignation in mid-2002, she was the first to rush to the podium, crying and screaming, “Why? Why?” — breaking her poor high heels in the process. But, now, she is Mahathir’s most ardent critic. When Abdullah informed the Cabinet that he would be meeting Mahathir for the recent four-eyes meeting she was the most outspoken objector. She did not agree that Abdullah meet Mahathir.

It was pointed out by the media that Mahathir too had problems with his predecessors, namely Tunku Abdul Rahman and Tun Hussein Onn. Mahathir of course does not deny this. However, after he became Prime Minister, he made a point of driving over to the older statesmen’s residences to make peace with them. He admits that he went over to meet them to apologise and kiss their hands. He did not require any middleman to play the role of mediator or request for any of the ex-Prime Ministers to come and see him. He went to meet them and made his peace with them. In Abdullah’s case, Mahathir had to drive over to meet the Prime Minister at his official residence.

This in itself should have been enough of an indicator that the meeting would not be cordial or that anything good would come out of it. While Mahathir may have been receptive to looking for an amicable solution to the crisis, Abdullah was lukewarm at best and merely playing lip service at worse. The least that should have happened is they should have met on neutral territory. Then one cannot say who went to meet whom. Neither did Mahathir go to meet Abdullah nor Abdullah go to meet Mahathir. But now it was Mahathir who went to meet Abdullah. This is one up for Mahathir and a minus for Abdullah. It demonstrates the arrogance of the man.

But such is Malaysian politics. As long as you walk through the corridors of power and are perceived as still being in control, the wolves can be kept at bay. The instant you are seen as losing your grip, your protectors turn predators. This is the law of the jungle and politics is the game of political animals — so expect the same rules to apply here as well. Abdullah knows this. So he must give an appearance of still being in control. Once it appears like he is losing it to Mahathir, woe to Abdullah. And that is why Abdullah wanted Mahathir to come to him. He wanted this perception that he is still top dog. But this is a minor gain. Mahathir was prepared to allow Abdullah this minor gain because what he gained in return was something greater. And this is something Abdullah did not take into consideration — in fact he has still not awoken to this realisation.

This meeting is good for Mahathir. It allows Mahathir to demonstrate that he is not malicious. It allows Mahathir to demonstrate he is reconciliatory. It allows Mahathir to demonstrate he is amicable. It allows Mahathir to demonstrate he is reasonable. Mahathir has extended the olive branch. And the fact that Mahathir went over to meet Abdullah and not the other way around just reinforces all this. Now it is up to Abdullah to reciprocate. And when Abdullah does not then he would demonstrate that he lacks good faith. If Abdullah bends, that would be a win for Mahathir. If Abdullah stands firm, that would also be a win for Mahathir. By bending Abdullah would appear weak. Not doing so would make him appear pigheaded. Both ways Mahathir comes out smelling like a rose. Heads I win, tails you lose.

Abdullah of course could not disagree meeting Mahathir as he would then be seen as the unreasonable aggressor. But what does he do when he does meet Mahathir? If he agrees to do what Mahathir wants, he is dead meat. The wolves will be upon him in a flash. But if he tries to show defiance then he would appear as the spoiler instead. Abdullah and not Mahathir would now be seen as the problem.

This meeting was a stroke of genius. Do you really think Mahathir expected Abdullah to bow down? Do you really think Mahathir wanted Abdullah to bow down? No way Jose! What Mahathir wanted was to show where his heart is, in the right place, while Abdullah does not have a heart at all. Brilliant! Mahathir now has Abdullah exactly where he wants him.

Actually, initially, Mahathir did not plan for a four-eyes meeting with Abdullah. At first he wanted to meet the Umno Supreme Council. But Abdullah did not agree to this. Then Mahathir proposed that he meet the Cabinet instead. And again Abdullah did not agree. He was adamant that the meeting must be four-eyes with no third party present. Abdullah was terrified of the thought that Mahathir will reduce him to a schoolboy in full view of others, in particular the Umno Supreme Council and the Cabinet. Abdullah was already expecting the dressing down and he did want any witnesses present.

Abdullah did offer some minor resistance to Mahathir’s allegations of corruption and conflict of interest. On the Scomi thingy, Abdullah did not deny that his son’s company received RM1.5 billion worth of Petronas contracts. But this is because his son’s company is 100% Bumiputera, said Abdullah. Hello! How can a public company be 100% Bumiputera?

On his complicity in the Oil for Food scandal, again Abdullah did not deny it. Sure, he did issue letters of recommendation to a few companies, including to that of his sister-in-law, but this is normal, argued Abdullah, and it is not that he benefited from it. Sigh…..Abdullah does not seem to have heard of the phrase ‘conflict of interest’. What kind of Prime Minister do we have anyway?

It was reported that Abdullah’s Hari Raya open house attracted 180,000 to 200,000 people — meaning he is very popular with the rakyat. This is what the mainstream media reported. Well, let us work out the sums.

It takes three seconds to quickly shake the hand of each guest if you do not talk to them, ask them how they are, etc. You just shake their hands as fast as possible and say, “Next!” So, in one minute, you can shake the hands of 20 guests and, in an hour, the hands of 1,200 guests. To shake the hands of 180,000 to 200,000 guests will take about seven days. And that is only if you shake their hands non-stop, 24 hours a day over seven days, without taking a break to eat, sleep, pray, go to the toilet, etc.

But I thought the open house was only half a day or six hours at the most? This means the most number of guests you can shake hands with would have been about 7,000. Or did more than 190,000 people just go home without shaking hands with their host or thank him for the food they ate? That’s terrible.

Yes, both idea are not suitable for our country. So saying Mahathir is right, is not really it. He wanted to bring AAB down is because AAB terminate his projects and neglected his cronies. That is the just it. Mahathir wanted his legacy or protection and privilleges in contracts to live on even after he stepped down. AAB didnt do that, so he made sure he gave AAB a heck of a time. He knew AAB is a weaker character than him. If the PM were Anwar Ibrahim, you think Mahathir would dare to voice out that much? He probably had his ass hauled by ISA before he even mentioned as much as the Crooked Bridge issue. So that is why Mahathir dares to make so much voice. All under the pretext of for the good of Malay, UMNO and Malaysian, but if you focus on his point, all this started when AAB cancelled his project in the crooked bridge, that is the triggering point of his anger.

So I urge the people of Malaysia to think rationally, not think just because Mahathir saying things which are convincing and it is right superficially makes him a great leader. Dont lose your focus on the real issue. Everything built on mega projects, by AAB or Mahathir is at the expense of US, THE PEOPLE OF MALAYSIA.

AFter all they are old questions which were raised many times again and again by TDM. It is really a waste of time for both leaders if this is the outcome. Imagine a PM going to an important meeting by not providing any answers to quuestions that were already known. He really looks stupid. This one goes to TDM

    Case 2
TDM wants a meeting. He got it.
TDM wants AAB to hear what he has to say. He got it.
AFter 1.5 hours or talk and nothing more to say, meeting is over.
TDM is shown the door. AAB message is that I have given my time for you to say what you need to say and now please get the f**k out of my office. AAB thumbs TDM on this. I am in control. No wonder TDM felt rebuked/insulted and came back with guns blazing.

It depends on which case you want to look at. Both has its winning point. Overall, the meeting doesn’t achieve what it sets out to be. Nothing resolved

We need good doses of common sense and reassuring command on the top. Not from one with a persistent state of narcosis. Has someone ask the PM to seek medical advice on this problem? YAB has to take care of his health. Life is more precious than the job he is holding. Someone who really cares for him should advise the PM on this basic advice of taking one’s health seriously. This, I would conclude those people around him do not really care or otherwise they would gently advise the gentle PM to retire. KJ and YAB’s son to me do not seem to care much or otherwise they would advice him to retire. People retire for reasons of compulsory retirement age, sickness, boredom of job, stress and incompetency. So, this is not losing face as every one invariable has to face the retirement age question.

Great writing…here. I wished to share some info with you guys out there on the 180,000 crowds that turned out at PM open house in PWTC as reported by most main stream media. What i am trying to share here is, the car park opposite PWTC (Hentian Putra)was empty. Only 1 floor is full of cars. When i leave at 2 :30 PM the same scenario actually happened, I am a regular visitor to PWTC whenever there is a PC or Matta Fair Fact i was there at , i can assured you to find a parking during that period is very difficult, if you were to find a parking without making any rounds or waiting for any cars to exit from the parking is like you have hit a JACKPOT!!!! That was what happened on the day where the press reported 180000 people attended the open house at PWTC. If we do have that much of crowds attending the open house how can the parking bays are empty for the first 2 hours of the function??? Perhaps some may said that most of the patrons parked elsewhere like by the road side or free parking was offered at PWTC…. (If this assumption is truth , the main stream media will HIGHLIGHT this in the papers, but NO such news was reported) The points that i really wanted to share here is ” Why must the main stream media simply pluck a unrealistic figure & feed the public with a questionable figure to the public? What is the main objective of highlighting such figures? I wonder if the Editors at the Main Stream Media, have forgoten the story of wolf invovling a small boy? What is the price he have to pay for telling lies??? Come on Media, we as rakyat dont want to have sensational news, what is wants is that media feed us with news that is based on facts….& not reconstructed by Spin Doctors!!!!

The meeting between the current and former Prime Ministers was an exercise in futility. It never had any chance of being a success to begin with – from the rakyat’s perspective. The most intelligent thing which was said before the meeting was uttered by Dr. Syed Husin Ali, where he said that a private meeting between the both of them did not concern the rest of us.

It was all about maintaining the political hygiene or the status quo of the all-powerful executive. TDM had made some very serious allegations against the current administration, particularly against the Prime Minister. Incompetence is probably the least concerning of all the allegations as we are quite used to that and have somehow come to live with it. It is the allegations of selling-out the country’s interests and corruption which deserves attention and a response.

It is by no means ‘elegant’ to remain tight-lipped when the credibility of the Government is being torn to shreds. More importantly, there is an obligation on the PM’s part to explain to the rakyat once and for all and convince us that it is not true.

The comments made by members of the Cabinet are not worth the paper that it is written on. These were the same people who appeared to defend with their very lives whatever TDM did during his tenure, whether it was sensible, reasonable, in the best interest of the country or not.

I like the way TDM unspun the amteurish Tkt 4.

Tun mentioned that he was going to say the same thing. Dollah AF (Akademi Fantasia as in popular) said he was going to listen only. There is no witness.

So Tun brought a tape recorder and this would quitened Dollah AF, during and after from any spin. When in the press conference, Tun basically repeated all that was said plus what happen. Thats fodder for a spin ie divulding so-called secret meeting.

As the malay norm, 2-2 meeting is supposed tobe secret. But why is the press pressing to know what happened.

Tun gave some bullet for them to use – police state, popularity and family. Police state wil be a new perception building offensive option for Tun and expect a denial. Popularity is fodder for fun and is insulting. Family is core of the issue (something everyone knows) and Dollah will be defensive and yet everyone knows.

Predictably, the went for the ole “kill the messenger” and not the message. All the machinery is headed there. With a simple touch of a letter to the bloggers and lots of email, suddenly mainstream media went for that letter. Now attentions are back to the bloggers and the Internet to know what is happening.

We are not truly a police state but still a form called enlightened absolutism. The “monarchy” ruling is governing and administering but refuse questioning. In TDM’s case, it holds true.

From Dollah AF still “terkial2″ or finding time to answer existing 19 issues, his machinery set for offensive is now pushed back into defence with this police state remark. Instead of backing out Tun’s remark, they have to give him coverage becasue foreign news is accessible now.

With all those young brains, they are still caught in the brick and mortar era. While their new setup websites are getting 10 people online only, more article of the same thing than readers!!! Hahahahaha

It is rumoured that Tun has some 40 issues and only presented 19. Out of the 19, say it has about 10 new issues from the almost same issues but with more details.

DOllah slowness to response and grasping will continue to put him back further and further into defense as more and more issues unravel.

Finally when the back is against the wall, the final kill will come. Before that happens, we will start to see it when he needs to depend on Najib to save him.

The idea of delaying UMNO election woudl save him from within UMNO. That signalled for a General Election. But now Tun has tuned his attention on the people. With Khairy’s foolish antic to try a racial card on the non Malay and Penang CM, UMNO is in trouble of a non Malay backlash. Will the Malay crowd deliver?

Then the economy has grave structural issue now, with the dismantling done underso-called reform. Last minute government spending won’t do any good and bring that trickle down effect.

I am reading of him quiting. Its a matter time.

What we are observing is merely spectator sport.

    What is Mahathir’s alternative vision?

He had 22 years but what did he achieve? Educational levels plummeted, the environment raped and pillaged to the detriment of our health and psychological wellbeing. The rule of law became the rule by law. He brought the judiciary to its knees, pitted races against each other, encouraged corruption, shackled the media, he brooked no dissent, persecuted his detractors, squandered the nations wealth on failed projects, practiced nepotism, he corrupted the police force to the extent they were his running dogs. He presided over the haemorrhage of human capital and great talent purely because his modus operandi for political control was ‘Ketuanan Melayu’ and ‘Ketuanan Islam’ which increasingly is seen as a terrible liability and way past its sell by date.

The impression of ’success’ was due to our tremendous natural resources which he exploited to the hilt. He was into ’style and gaya’ but really he did not have any substance. He would hijack other peoples success and claim it as his own. He ‘built’ Twin Towers but Tun face it, it was Jewish Architects, French, German, Swiss and British engineers, Bangladeshi and Indonesian labour which made it a reality. Malaysians just picked up the tab. I am told that Mahathir even wanted a ‘world class’symphony orchestra of European music which would of course be called ‘Malaysian’ but is in fact 97% foreign. Petronas has so far squandered over RM 350 million on the running of this orchestra and concert program. But yet Mahathir would proudly talk about ‘Malay culture’ but did nothing to encourage or develop the Malay Art scene. The budget the Arts ministry has to develop and encourage local arts was shockingly paltry under Mahathir. The fact that Petroans is not answerable to Parliament meant Mahathir was able to treat Petronas assets like his personal piggy bank – to splurge on his egomaniacal mega projects, children, cronies and to prop up UMNO.

Did Mahathir’s 22 years bring us closer to creating a nation where communities are at peace with each other and live in mutual respect, where discrimination is illegal, where truth prevails, where the disadvantaged are valued and helped, where detention without trial is abolished, where citizens are equal before the law, where talent is recognised and encouraged?

I challenge anyone to answer in the affirmative. If after 22 years Mahathir has failed in the above aims, then he should see himself as a failed old aged penshioner and just retire from public life instead of making a fool of himself.

AAB should step down or not ??

Where in the world have anyone heard the leader of the country dozing off during meetings.
This certainly this augurs well for the country !!
It is really laughing matter across the causeway when you have a sleepy head as a leader.
It makes sense when LKY has the gall to issue statements against Malaysia .
When he wakes up, he thinks he is fully supported by 180000 rakyats!!
Discipline should be the first virtue in any leaders and beg to differ such exists with AAB.
As a leader, AAB has not displayed confidence (expected of) when talking wide range of issues as compared with TDM.
This shows a general lack of knowledge and certainly, this guy does not read regularly.
A country to move forward needs a leader who thinks 100yrs ahead in time, as this will show a genuine concern for the future direction of the country.
Right now, we have leaders who are concerned about the 9MP for the next 5 years!
If that’s how far sighted our leader is then this country is gonna get it big time and its high time all of us start praying. A-Man

What a laughing stock AAB is to the rakyat and the world at large. No wonder his sil also took advantage of him for that. How can he be so naive to think that all those (180k as claimed) visitors who had free lunch at his residence are his supporters? For all you know, most of them, they are DAP, Keadilan and Pas supporters….got free makan who wont go? stupid not to go right? Sometimes I pity him to be so simple-minded, gullible so much so he may not be aware even he’s being swallowed whole by his sil….Wake-up sleepy head before its too late…how can you run our country if you are always sleepy with quote “AIDS”(Abdullah Intermittent Drwback Syndrome)!

30/07: Police report made against Abdullah Badawi
Category: General Posted by: Raja Petra
    Malaysia Today

This morning, a police report was made against Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. The police report was lodged by Ronnie Liu Tian Khiew of the Democratic Action Party at the Damansara Utama Police Station.

This police report is about a seditious posting in the website of the Prime Minister of Malaysia that has remained there since 14 November 2005. The posting was first brought to the public’s attention by James Wong on Thursday, 26 July 2007, in his blog, Clare Street.

Last Monday, Umno’s Information Chief made a police report against Malaysia Today and two days later, on Wednesday, Raja Petra Kamarudin was called in for interrogation under the Sedition Act. It is believed that similarly Abdullah Ahmad Badawi may have to report to the police station this Wednesday for this statement to be recorded under Section 112.

Malaysia Today urges the blogging community to turn up in full force at the Damansara Utama Police Station on Wednesday as a show of support and solidarity to Abdullah Ahmad Badawi who should be regarded as a fellow blog/website owner. The blogging community has always maintained a non-partisan stance in the spirit that blogging cuts across all political boundaries. It has not been confirmed yet whether Abdullah will be called to the Damansara Utama Police Station (or the Commercial Crimes Division in Bukit Perdana) for his statement to be recorded or whether the police will instead go visit the Prime Minister at his office/home.

At 5.30pm today, Ronnie Liu will be meeting Chief Inspector Zaini at the Commercial Crimes Division in Bukit Perdana for his statement to be recorded. Amongst some of the points in Ronnie’s police report alleging that the Prime Minister’s website has breached the Sedition Act are:

Ensuring that Malays do not get employment in Chinese companies

Teach Chinese kids that Malays are immoral and hide the good qualities of the Malays from them

    Spilt and disunite the Malays

The Chinese must be proud of how the Penang Chief Minister suppressed the Penang Malays

The Chinese must monopolise commerce and embark on a smear campaign aimed at portraying the Malaysian government as anti-Chinese

The Chinese must turn the Malays against the Rulers so that they destroy themselves

Subtle methods must be employed in destroying the Malays so that eventually the Chinese will rule over them
